Concerns related to violation of UMMSM medical student work hours policy (detailed below) or concerns about retaliation for reporting such violations.
Duty hours must not exceed 80 hours/week, averaged over a four-week period. Clinical shifts, such as in the Emergency Department, must be no longer than 16 consecutive hours, each shift separated by at least 10 hours. Students must have one day (24 hrs) in seven free from all clinical/educational responsibilities, averaged over a four-week period.
