Reporting Compliance Concerns

Loyola’s faculty, administrators, staff and students are responsible for helping to create and maintain an environment characterized by high standards of ethical behavior and compliance with federal, state and local laws and University policies.

All members of the University Community are encouraged to report any behavior in violation of the law or University policy promptly. Examples of behavior in violation of the law or University policy include:

  • Any activity undertaken by an employee or agent of the University which may be in violation of local, state or federal law or regulation (such as theft, fraud, or misappropriate or misuse of University assets)
  • Conduct that may violate University policies or otherwise place the University at risk
  • Concerns you have raised with appropriate people, but which have not been corrected
  • A situation that feels wrong and makes you uncomfortable

Raising such concerns is a service to the University and University policy provides that no faculty, staff, administrator or student may be subjected to reprisal or retaliation for making a good faith report or inquiry relating to potential or suspected improper conduct.

If you have information about behavior in violation of the law or University policy, the preferred method of reporting these concerns is to speak with your supervisor or an appropriate person in the department that has oversight authority for the policy or activity to which your concern relates. If you are uncomfortable talking directly with your supervisor or another manager, you may contact the Universitys Ethics Point. The Ethics Point provides a confidential, anonymous mechanism for reporting concerns about any aspect of University compliance that you are uncomfortable raising through regular channels. After you complete your report you will be assigned a unique code called a "report key." Write down your report key and password and keep them in a safe place. After 5-6 business days, use your report key and password to check your report for feedback or questions.
