Bias Incidents or Harassment Speech, act, or harassing action that targets, threatens, or attacks an individual or group because of their actual or perceived race, color, national origin, ethnicity, religious affiliation, sex, gender identity, disability, or sexual orientation.
Child Abuse Reporting Report a known or suspected instance of child abuse or neglect occurring on campus or in connection with University-affiliated programs. All such incidents should also be reported to the Director of Public Safety.
Conflict of Interest A situation in which an individual's Financial Interest or other personal interests, or that of the Individual’s Family or Close Friend or Colleague, may compromise, or have the appearance of compromising, the Individual’s professional judgment in the conduct of administration, management, instruction, research, or other activities on behalf of the University.
Discrimination/Harassment Violation of or behavior not in keeping with the University's Non-Discrimination/Non-Harassment Policy.
Employee Benefits Abuses Improper, misleading or deceptive actions/statements, falsification of records, or misrepresentation of actual conditions related to institution benefits plans (e.g., health and supplemental insurance plans, tuition benefits, sick or other paid time off programs).
Improper Personal Relationships Violation of or behavior not in keeping with the University's Personal Relationships Policy.
Nepotism Preferential treatment given to family members of other University employees, or the situation of a close relative reporting to another relative. Violation or behavior not in keeping with the Employment of Relatives Policy.
Offensive or Inappropriate Communication Violation of or behavior not in keeping with the University's Language Use Policy.
Sexual Harassment The making of unwanted and offensive sexual advances or of sexually offensive remarks or acts, especially by one in a superior or supervisory position or when acquiescence to such behavior is a condition of continued employment, promotion, or satisfactory evaluation.
Time Abuse Improper and/or excessive use of work time for personal business, interest, advantage, or gain. Concerns about an employee or manager who is falsifying work hours.
Unsafe Working Conditions Failure to meet requirements needed to perform all duties in a safe and secure environment, and/or to meet the requirements of any applicable policy, law, rule, or regulation relating to the environment or workplace safety, including those imposed by OSHA or the EPA.
Workers Compensation or Disability Benefits Abuses Observation of physical activity of employees receiving disability or other compensation benefits from the University in contradiction to the degree of the disability certified by medical personnel.
Other Human Resource Policy or Regulatory Matters Other violations or behaviors not in keeping with the University's HR-related policies, or pertinent regulations or laws.
