Our Commitment
The College of Southern Maryland is committed to high ethical standards, financial integrity and to providing a safe working and educational environment. In support of those goals, the college has selected EthicsPoint to provide you with a simple way to anonymously report activities that may involve financial wrongdoing, unsafe activities, breaches of confidentiality or certain types of other unethical or inappropriate behavior. This system will also allow you to return to a report you make to find out the actions that have been taken as a result of the report.
You can either click on the most appropriate category listed on this page or call the telephone number listed on the page to submit a report. Both this web site and the telephone number are operated by and staffed by EthicsPoint, not by the college.
To give the college the best opportunity to investigate any concerns, you are encouraged to
- fully and accurately answer all questions asked,
- attach any relevant documents when reporting via the web site, and
- Return to the web site to determine whether any follow up questions have been posed by the college.
The EthicsPoint-operated site is not intended to replace or supersede existing reporting methods. The college encourages all persons to initially report concerns of misconduct through normal lines of communication. This hotline is not the appropriate forum for the following concerns:
- Quality of internal or external services or processes – Please use the college’s Feedback reporting for these issues at this link on a college owned and operated web site
http://www.csmd.edu/footer/feedback.php
- Human Resources matters – Please report these matters to your supervisor or to the Human Resources department.
- Diversity/discrimination matters – Please report all allegations of unlawful discrimination or harassment to the Executive Director of Diversity and Equal Opportunity or to the President.
General questions about this anonymous hotline can be directed to the General Counsel of the College of Southern Maryland.
