Our Commitment

At World Vision Canada (WVC), one of our most important roles is to help create the best possible work environment for everyone in our organization. Enjoying our jobs is an obvious result. We should also have the comfort of knowing that we work in a safe and ethical workplace. Our hope is that you are proud to work at WVC and that you feel good about your own contribution to our ministry and to the work that we do as an organization.

Every staff member regardless of position, shares in the responsibility of promoting a workplace that is high in integrity and conducts itself in an honest and positive way. In an ongoing effort to ensure this, WVC has a reporting system called the World Vision Canada Whistleblower Hotline, which is managed by EthicsPoint a leading provider of integrity hotlines.

Through the World Vision Canada Whistleblower Hotline, you can report violations of law and/or WVC policies on an anonymous basis, if you so choose. In partnering with EthicsPoint, we have gone to great lengths to ensure that reports entered in the system are completely confidential.

If you detect or have reasonable grounds for suspecting illegal activity, a violation of World Vision policy or other Misconduct as described in the WVC Whistleblower Policy and Procedures document you are encouraged to report your concerns. Examples of items that should be reported, include:

  • Theft
  • Child Protection Issues
  • Endangering the health and safety of staff
  • Failure to comply with legal obligations
  • Misuse of WVC’s assets
  • Bribery or corruption
  • Fraud
  • Criminal activity
  • Sexual Harassment or harassment of any kind
  • Endangering the environment
  • Tax or customs offences
  • Questionable accounting or auditing
  • Concealing any of the above

The World Vision Canada Whistleblower Hotline is to be used for reporting allegations of a serious nature and should not to be used for matters handled by the People and Culture (P&C) grievance process, such as issues related to compensation, dissatisfaction with a manager, leadership style, or workplace disputes. These matters should be raised with your manager and if not resolved, then with your P&C business partner.
