Our pledge: Integrity, openness, and responsiveness

West Virginia University takes seriously its responsibilities to educate tomorrow's leaders, generate new knowledge for society, and act as a steward for resources entrusted to us. In fulfilling these responsibilities, we pledge to uphold the highest standards of integrity.

We believe an atmosphere of openness fosters integrity. Employees and others who have concerns about ethical issues are encouraged to talk with their supervisors or other appropriate University officials. For those who wish to maintain anonymity while reporting concerns, we have established this EthicsLine.

The University will respond to concerns quickly and thoroughly, and no one will ever face reprisals for making good-faith reports about possible ethical violations.

For more than 140 years, WVU has built a tradition of excellence and integrity. Each member of the University community shares the responsibility for maintaining that tradition.
