Moody Bible Institute is dedicated to creating a work culture that is known for its commitment to advancing the cause of Christ. We are also committed to having a work environment that is …

  • known for being safe and ethical
  • free from discrimination and harassment
  • led by staff and managers whose behavior is marked by their fairness, honesty and trustworthiness
  • building a culture that values its employees and is a good steward of resources.

We believe that these values are already present within our organization. But we also know that there is the possibility that now or in the future there may be a need for ongoing improvements to be considered. When you see things that are not in line with our values and ideals, we hope that you will discuss these with your supervisor, manager, vice president or a member of the Human Resources department. We want you to be confident that your concerns will be heard and carefully considered.

However, since employees may not feel comfortable sharing with a coworker about matters involving serious misconduct, we are now partnering with an organization called Ethics Point. Through this secure web site, employees have the opportunity to share their observations in an anonymous and confidential manner. Ethics Point passes these comments back to the administration to review and act upon without revealing the employee’s identity.

Why are we doing this?

  • It provides our employees with a non-threatening way to share serious concerns involving unethical, illegal or unsafe behavior
  • This model for accountability is considered a “best practice” within organizations and companies around the world.
  • Financial auditors advocate that systems like this be put in place.
  • We voluntarily partner with other groups, such as the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA), to ensure that we are developing and maintaining standards of accountability that convey God-honoring ethical practices. This enables us to be faithful to this commitment.

What should be reported through Ethics Point?

  • Mismanagement of funds
  • Unethical practices
  • Harassment or discrimination
  • Breach of confidentiality
  • Conflicts of interest
  • Theft, vandalism/sabotage, violence, or threats of violence
  • Unsafe work conditions
