Our Commitment

Berklee College of Music is committed to being a great place to learn, teach and work. As part of its commitment to ensure a respectful and ethical workplace, Berklee has partnered with EthicsPoint, Inc. to provide a way for all members of our community, including outside vendors, to anonymously and confidentially report activities that may involve criminal or unethical behavior, or violations of college policy. This resource is available to students, staff, and faculty at the Boston and Valencia campuses as well as any other locations where faculty, staff and or students work and learn.

Berklee College of Music has established a number of policies and procedures for handling the concerns and complaints of all members of the College community and encourages its employees to attempt to resolve matters through established channels whenever possible. This hotline is not a substitute for, nor does it supersede, any existing reporting methods or protocols. Instead, the EthicsPoint system is intended to offer an additional means of reporting in situations in which the individual making the report is unable or unwilling to use the existing procedures, and provides a method of reporting issues or complaints anonymously. This service is designed specifically for complaints such as those related to financial, accounting or donor stewardship issues, environmental health and safety matters, conflicts of interest and ethics concerns. All such disclosures will be handled with the highest degree of sensitivity and confidentiality. They will be forwarded only to Berklee officials with a "need to know," provided that such notification will not compromise any investigation. Appropriate action will be taken following a discreet and thorough investigation.

Students should refer to Student Policy Handbook found here which is designed to provide resources to resolve most student-related concerns.

This hotline should not be used to report issues concerning employment-related discrimination or harassment. Matters of this nature usually cannot be fully and appropriately addressed when the complainant chooses to remain anonymous, and Berklee may not be able to fully investigate such allegations in an anonymous report. These matters should be reported using the College’s Non-Discrimination, Harassment, and Sexual Misconduct Equity Policy and Process designed to effectively address them.

The college prohibits retaliation against any person who, in good faith, reports, assists in reporting, or participates in reporting misconduct or suspected misconduct. Any person who retaliates against such an individual will be subject to the college disciplinary procedures up to and including dismissal or termination of employment by the college.

The College expects that reports of misconduct or suspected misconduct will be made in good faith, and will reflect a real and legitimate concern that must be promptly investigated and addressed. The College recognizes that false accusations can have serious effects on innocent persons. If, after investigation, it is determined that a person who has accused another has maliciously or recklessly made a false accusation, the accuser will be subject to appropriate corrective action, including dismissal or termination of employment.
