Our Commitment
Whitman, as a community, is committed to conducting its business according to the highest standards of ethical behavior. The College needs the input and involvement of faculty and staff in order to meet that commitment and has adopted a Conflict of Interest Policy to further that purpose. It is the responsibility of the entire Whitman community to report concerns or suspected violations of this policy, or any laws or regulations governing the operations of Whitman College.
Whitman expects faculty and staff to ask questions and raise concerns about behavior they believe might not be ethical directly with their respective supervisor or Vice President. Additionally, the College has selected EthicsPoint, a third party service, to provide a way to anonymously report concerns of a financial nature, which may involve unethical or otherwise inappropriate activity or behavior in violation of Whitman policies. For non-financial issues, Whitman Security, or the Office of Human Resources, are among the options available to a reporting individual.
All reports submitted to EthicsPoint will be handled promptly and discreetly. No retaliatory action will be taken against anyone for reporting or inquiring about potential breaches of Whitman policies or seeking guidance on how to handle suspected breaches.
