LETTER FROM NORA MILLER, PRESIDENT

Mississippi University for Women is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity in its daily operations and in all aspects of its mission, including teaching, research and public service. Every person, regardless of position, shares in the responsibility for promoting an ethical and safe environment. We must conduct ourselves so that our actions and behavior foster a campus climate that is respectful of all members of our community, that encourages civility, collegiality, and restricts inappropriate uses of power.

MUW has established ways to report student behavioral or code of conduct issues (https://publicdocs.maxient.com/incidentreport.php?MississippiUnivforWomen) and academic issues (https://publicdocs.maxient.com/academicreport.php?MississippiUnivforWomen). We also want you to report any factual information suggestive of fraudulent, wasteful or abusive activities involving any MUW employee, student, or other affiliate. To help in that effort we have established an Ethics Line, which is a phone and Internet-based reporting system. Examples of reportable issues include fraud, theft, misuse of MUW resources or information, violations of safety rules or environmental laws, conflicts of interest or discrimination. You may file a report through the MUW Ethics Line on this web site, or by phoning toll-free, 877-310-0424. The Ethics Line is managed by the company EthicsPoint. This service is provided as part of our shared internal audit services with Mississippi State University.

We would like you to resolve concerns through established channels whenever possible, but we recognize that this is not always an option. In such circumstances, we encourage you to utilize the MUW Ethics Line so that we may properly address your concerns. The Ethics Line is operated 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Reports submitted through the Ethics Line will be forwarded to the appropriate officials for prompt action and the reporter can remain anonymous.

The Ethics Line is available for all of us, to ensure MUW continues to operate under the highest ethical standards and principles.

Sincerely,

Nora Miller, President
