Tracy M. Cook, Interim President

Alcorn State University is committed to fostering a campus environment that promotes ethical behavior for all members of our university community.

The Faculty/Staff and Student handbooks provide directions to faculty, staff and students for reporting activities and behavior that are inconsistent with university policies and procedures. We encourage all members of the university community to utilize those reporting procedures.

In those instances where a member of the Alcorn family does not feel comfortable in reporting activities that may involve criminal, unethical, or otherwise inappropriate behavior through established campus procedures, the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) has installed the Ethics Line, which is a web-based reporting tool.

The Alcorn Ethics Line is designed to protect the identity of the reporter, as well as provide a mechanism for investigation, follow-up and response. The Alcorn Ethics Line assures that you can communicate issues and concerns, which you deem illegal, unethical or inappropriate to management, while maintaining your confidentiality and without fear of reprisal.

The Alcorn Ethics Line is not a substitute for using already established reporting procedures at Alcorn State University and we encourage you to use them whenever possible. However, when these channels are not available or when there is a need to maintain confidentiality, I encourage you to utilize the Alcorn Ethics Line.

Respectfully,

Tracy M. Cook

President
