A letter from Archbishop José H. Gomez

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Archbishop José H. Gomez

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles has a strong commitment to financial transparency and fiscal responsibility, and creating an environment where workplace misconduct and/or ethical violations are not tolerated.

Under the guidance of the Archdiocesan Finance Council, each year we publish independently audited annual financial reports for our Administrative Office and our Together in Mission program. In addition, we have put in place policies, procedures and training programs that enable our parishes, schools and other institutions to be responsible stewards of our financial resources.

We are also committed to preventing fraud, financial improprieties, inappropriate behavior and other violations of the high ethical standards established for, and the professional conduct expected of, all Archdiocesan employees.

Through our partnership with EthicsPoint, an independent agency that works with many dioceses across the country, we offer a confidential way for individuals to report suspected financial irregularities, behavioral misconduct and other violations in our parishes, schools and Archdiocesan offices. Reports can be made anonymously and are kept in strict confidence. Reports are promptly reviewed to determine the proper response and course of action.

Reports can be filed online by selecting a location or by calling the confidential EthicsPoint hotline at 855-420-8644.

Working together, I am confident that we can ensure the responsible stewardship of the resources entrusted to the Archdiocese as we carry out the vital mission of the Church here in Los Angeles.

I entrust all our families to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and I ask that God grant us peace.

Sincerely,

Most Reverend José H. Gomez
Archbishop of Los Angeles
