Our Commitment

The National University System (NUS) and its affiliate universities are committed to the highest standards of moral and ethical behavior and takes violations of any federal, state, and University regulation or policy seriously. Every person, regardless of position, shares in the responsibility for promoting an ethical, compliant, and safe work environment.

NUS and its affiliate universities consider employee concerns very important and seeks your cooperation in resolving such issues. In coordination with EthicsPoint, an independent, third-party hotline provider, we have established a secure, confidential reporting tool that provides a way for employees to anonymously and confidentially report activities that may involve unethical behavior, improper conduct or violations of system/affiliate university policies. This hotline does not replace or supersede existing reporting methods at the National University System or its affiliate institutions.

All employees are encouraged to report all forms of unethical and improper behavior promptly. If you have information about behavior believed to be in violation of the law, policies or ethical standards, you are encouraged to express concerns directly with your supervisor(s), department manager, Human Resources, or any other appropriate University office or official.

Situations may arise, however, when an individual discovers or reasonably suspects unethical or illegal behavior, and yet is reluctant to report it for fear of reprisal or retaliation. In these instances, employees can utilize this EthicsPoint reporting tool to report issues anonymously. Completed reports submitted through EthicsPoint will be handled promptly and discreetly. See the EthicsPoint FAQs for more information.

Persons filing reports are not required to provide their names and the University will respect anonymity and confidentiality insofar as practical and in accordance with the law. Please be advised that some matters cannot be appropriately addressed when the complainant chooses to remain anonymous.

The EthicsPoint system is designed for employees to report any violation of our stated Code of Conduct, policies, or other concern you may have. General reporting types are as follows:

  • Discrimination, Harassment, or Retaliation

EthicsPoint reporting should be strictly used for matters where there is a genuine feeling of reprisal or retaliation if reported to management. National University System complies with applicable federal and state laws and does not tolerate any retaliatory actions against any employee or constituent for making a good faith report about potential misconduct.
