Our Commitment

The Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety was founded by a group of North American apparel companies and retailers and brands who have joined together to develop and launch the Bangladesh Worker Safety Initiative, a binding, five-year undertaking with the intent of improving safety in Bangladeshi ready-made garment (RMG) factories. The Alliance is built upon the principles of commitment, collaboration, transparency, and accountability, with strong values of responsibility and integrity.

The purpose of the Alliance’s Integrity Program is to ensure ethical practices, reliable information, and compliance with applicable laws in the context of our work at the field level in Bangladesh, and in our work elsewhere around the world. We expect our Members (apparel companies and retailers), Qualified Assessment Firms (QAFs), Advisory Board Members and Committees, and any other third party working on behalf of the Alliance to engage in ethical and legal conduct. We also require Alliance employees to sign the Alliance Code of Ethics, which outlines expectations for professional and ethical conduct in conducting work on behalf of the Alliance, details confidentiality provisions, cites possible work conditions and identifies mechanisms for reporting issues and filing claims of unethical conduct.

If you believe that Alliance staff or partners have engaged in unethical behavior, you are encouraged to use this hotline, hosted by third party provider EthicsPoint, to report your concerns. You are encouraged to submit reports relating to violations stated in our Integrity Program, as well as ask for guidance related to policies.

The information you provide will be sent to the Alliance Compliance Committee, which includes independent observers with no affiliation to Alliance members. Your report will be submitted by EthicsPoint on a confidential and anonymous basis if you so choose. You have our guarantee that your comments will be heard.

See the EthicsPoint FAQs for more information.
