Anonymous Reporting

Neither NC State nor EthicsPoint tracks the origin of online reports. The information you report can be submitted anonymously, with or without your contact information. However, please provide as much detailed information about your concern as possible.

If you provide contact information in an anonymous report, NC State Compliance and Audit staff can reach out to you directly through EthicsPoint without ever knowing who you are. You can also choose not to enter your name or contact information when submitting an anonymous report, but you will need to login to the EthicsPoint Follow-Up page with your report key and password to see follow-up comments and questions from NC State Compliance and Audit staff. Due to the nature of certain reports, NC State may be limited in its ability to investigate anonymous reports unless sufficient information is provided.

No Retaliation

NC State is committed to protecting individuals who report concerns. Reporting suspected violations of laws, policies, regulations, or rules is a protected activity. Any adverse action (including intimidation, threats, or coercion) taken against an individual because the individual reported a concern constitutes retaliation and is strictly prohibited.

NC State's Commitment to Compliance

NC State is committed to maintaining a culture of compliance and an environment where open, honest communications are the expectation, not the exception. NC State wants all members of the University community, regardless of their position, to feel comfortable in approaching a supervisor or manager with their concerns. In addition, NC State's Policies, Regulations, and Rules provide guidance and standard practices for conducting the university’s activities with honesty and integrity.

Ethics Line

Reporting Your Concerns

NC State encourages the campus community to report concerns directly to a supervisor or manager through the offices responsible for investigating certain types of concerns. These offices can include the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity (OIED), Human Resources (HR), Internal Audit Division (IAD), or other responsible offices as appropriate. Contact names and information for these offices of reporting are available at: https://go.ncsu.edu/additional-reporting.

In addition, the EthicsPoint hotline provides an additional means of reporting.
