Gilead is committed to the highest standards of legal and ethical conduct in all of its activities. Gilead's global Ethics Hotline is a key embodiment of these corporate values. The Hotline enables individuals to report legitimate concerns of suspected wrongdoing without fear of reprisal.
Matters which may be reported include, but are not limited to, potential violations of law, regulations, the Company's accounting, financial or safety controls, the Company's disclosure and reporting obligations, and the Company's business conduct policies. Gilead will take appropriate steps to investigate reports.
Gilead's Ethics Hotline is accessible to all individuals around the world. It is operated by an independent, third-party provider, and is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Concerns may be reported via phone (local toll-free numbers have been set up in most countries) or on the web. The phone and web-based reporting systems are available in multiple languages and reporting may be made anonymously where permitted by local law.
The Ethics Hotline system also allows individuals to ask a question about Gilead’s policies, Core Values, and business practices without filing a formal complaint. Questions may be submitted anonymously where permitted by local law and will be answered by a knowledgeable person promptly.
Reports are handled in accordance with Gilead’s Complaint Procedure and Non-Retaliation Policy and Gilead’s Internal Investigations and Disciplinary Policy. Gilead will not tolerate any form of intimidation or retaliation by any officer, employee, contractor, subcontractor, or agent of Gilead against anyone filing a report in good faith.
The Ethics Hotline does not replace existing reporting mechanisms and channels of communication within the Company. Gilead encourages escalation and resolution of concerns through existing channels (e.g. compliance, Human Resources, affiliate management), where possible.
