The Diocese of San Jose is committed to fostering healthy relationships. Incidents of sexual misconduct, as well as other forms of physical abuse, are a cause of grave personal tragedy. This misconduct is contrary to the fundamental dignity of each person, to our faith in Jesus Christ and to the teachings of the Church. It is our promise to protect all of God’s children through vigilance and compassion, while using all available options to combat any such wrongdoings, or potential conduct violations, to ensure that justice and the universal truths of the Church are upheld within our diocesan institutions.
You are encouraged to submit reports relating to all accusations of sexual misconduct or potential conduct violations involving any diocesan personnel, including clergy and volunteers. All reports are confidential and accepted by either online submission or by phone using the hotline. In situations where you prefer to place an anonymous* report, you are encouraged to use the hotline, hosted by our third party service provider, EthicsPoint.
The information you provide will be documented and referred to the diocese’s Office for the Protection of Children & Vulnerable Adults for follow-up on behalf of the Diocese of San Jose. Please rest assured that your report will be submitted on a confidential basis should you choose to proceed.
It is our commitment to you that the report you submit will be reviewed by the appropriate diocesan personnel and addressed accordingly. Please note that EthicsPoint is a reporting agency contracted by the Diocese of San Jose. EthicsPoint is available to you online or via hotline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will collect your contact information along with a brief statement. After you have submitted your report, someone from the Diocese of San Jose’s Office for the Protection of Children & Vulnerable Adults will contact you. You may also contact the office directly Monday through Friday, 7 AM – 3:30 PM, at 408-983-0113.
