Make a Report Follow-up on a Report Policies Code of Conduct: Annual Meeting ASHG Code of Ethics ASHG Annual Meeting Etiquette ASHG Procedures Following Allegation FAQs

Our Commitment

The American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) is committed to fostering a welcoming environment that is safe, collaborative, and productive for supporting dialogue and discovery for all attendees. ASHG is an organization with strong values of responsibility and integrity where open, honest communications are the expectation, not the exception. We want attendees to feel comfortable in letting us know when you believe violations of our policies have occurred. The Board of Directors has established these policies to ensure these values are upheld. ASHG has contracted with NAVEX Global to provide a complaint reporting and handling solution called EthicsPoint.

EthicsPoint is a web and phone reporting system that facilitates handling and response on a 24/7 basis throughout the year. Reports are handled by an expert trained to receive reports from individuals in delicate or stressful situations. Those reports will be documented and passed on immediately for confidential processing. Complaints related to staff other than the Chief Executive Officer will be shared with and managed by the Chief Executive Officer. Complaints involving Society Board members will be addressed by the Executive Committee.

We strongly encourage ASHG attendees to report violations of any of our policies using this system. Even if you don't want or expect any action to be taken, having a record of incidents will help ASHG maintain a climate that is welcoming for all. Reports will be taken seriously and addressed in a timely manner.

To the best extent possible, we will preserve anonymity consistent with the rights of all involved. Reports may not be submitted anonymously as that would preclude an adequate investigation.

See the EthicsPoint FAQs for more information.
