Follow-up on a Report Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct FAQs

Our Commitment

The University of Kansas Health System is an organization with strong values of responsibility and integrity. Our Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct contains general guidelines for conducting business with the highest standards of ethics.

The University of Kansas Health System is committed to an environment where open, honest communications are the expectation, not the exception. We want you to feel comfortable in approaching a member of management in instances where you believe violations of policies, regulations, or standards may have occurred.

Another option is the use of this EthicsPoint helpline, hosted by a third-party provider, to report your concerns. You may provide your name and contact information, or you may report anonymously. Any report you make will be kept confidential to the fullest extent possible, consistent with the law and good business practices. You are encouraged to submit reports relating to violations of our Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, health system policies, and regulatory obligations, as well as asking for clarification of policies and procedures.

The information you provide will be sent to us by EthicsPoint. You have our guarantee that your comments will be heard.

As a matter of health system policy, no one who reports a suspected violation will be disciplined or subjected to retaliatory action for making a report in good faith. Any retaliation against a health system team member who makes a report in good faith through the appropriate channels identified is expressly prohibited and subject to discipline.

This helpline is not intended for reports of critical care incidents, safety incidents, or patient care concerns. Employees with these concerns should report through the appropriate internal event reporting system.

Please note: this is not the site for reporting issues related to the University of Kansas Medical Center. To report issues for KUMC, please go here.
