Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
The Archdiocese of Newark and its parishes, schools and other ministries are committed to proclaiming the Gospel, forming missionary disciples, and faithfully serving all of God’s people, especially the poor. To fulfill the mission of our Church, we must always conduct our work in an ethical manner.
Together we are stewards of this local Church, and one of our significant responsibilities is to manage the financial resources entrusted to our care. The Archdiocese of Newark is committed to the highest standards of conduct and ethics and strives for accountability and transparency in all we do in serving our mission. Our stewardship includes financial transparency and responsibility.
We are grateful for the generous financial support of the faithful of our vast Archdiocese that permits us to carry out our mission to proclaim the Gospel and perform charitable works throughout the four counties in which we serve (Bergen, Essex, Hudson and Union).
High standards of professional behavior are always expected from all serving in the Archdiocese. These expectations are outlined within our Conduct Policies.
To help ensure that we provide an environment that strengthens our Church, safeguards vital resources entrusted to us, and upholds the highest standards, we are implementing EthicsPoint, an independent reporting system that allows anyone to report concerns regarding financial misconduct or violations of our conduct*.
A person reporting concerns can identify themself or remain anonymous.
To make a report: call (844) 675-7687 to speak with an EthicsPoint-trained specialist or click here.
I hope the implementation of this new platform reminds us of our obligation to be good stewards of the gifts entrusted to us and continue to move our Archdiocese forward in our commitment through accountability and transparency in the many ways in which we serve the people of this local Church. Let us continue to work together in the vineyard to become always better stewards in the Lord.
Sincerely yours in Christ the Redeemer,
Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R.
Archbishop of Newark
