Concerns regarding conduct by or toward a student-athlete, including behavior believed to be harmful to member(s) of the athletic community and/or violations of athletic program policy.

Concerns relating to outside activities that may compromise or appear to compromise the fulfillment of a University employee’s institutional responsibilities.

Concerns relating to a situation in which an employee is in a position to gain, or appear to gain, financial advantage or personal benefit (broadly construed) arising from the employee's University position.

Concerns relating to financial or other personal interests that may compromise, or have the appearance of compromising a researcher's judgment in the design, conduct, or reporting of research, including failure to disclose such interests or to comply with a management plan.

Concerns regarding unequal treatment or unwelcome conduct based on a legally protected status (e.g., race, sex, age, religion, or sexual orientation).

Concerns relating to a failure to meet requirements as defined by Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) or American Disability Act (ADA).

Concerns regarding conduct that is inconsistent with the professional standards and expectations of employees (e.g., staff) at the University, including conduct that is in violation of a code of conduct, policy, handbook or any other printed materials that address employee conduct on the part of either the institution, the University System of Maryland, or the State of Maryland.

Concerns regarding conduct that is inconsistent with the professional standards and expectations of faculty at the University.

Concerns relating to improper financial activity, including mismanagement of budgets, misuse of institutional funds, misuse of purchasing or travel cards, payroll issues, and lack of approvals or improper approval levels.

Concerns relating to the use of human subjects or animals in research.

Concerns relating to inappropriate activity in applying for or administering grants or in managing or using grant funds, including failure to submit all required information or providing false information in applying for grants, unallowable or questionable expenditures or cost transfers to government grants, contracts, or other agreements, failure to comply with terms and conditions of an award, or any other violation of a grant-related policy or regulation.

Concerns relating to supplier or contractor activity, including violation of institutional policies and procedures or State/federal law/regulations, improper supplier or contractor selection improper negotiation or diversion of contract awards, and falsification or fabrication of any related documents.

Concerns relating to compliance with export controls or research security-related policies, laws, or regulations.

Concerns relating to falsification, fabrication, plagiarism in research conducted at UMD or any other practice that seriously deviates from practices commonly accepted in the discipline or in the academic and research communities.

Concerns about retaliation related to a previously reported issue or misconduct matter.

Concerns regarding violations of the requirements of any applicable policy, rule, law, or regulation relating to the environment, working conditions, or workplace/laboratory safety.

Concerns relating to the security of institutional data/information, systems, or operations, institutional resources, or university facilities.

Concerns relating to the conduct of a student, including academic and non-academic misconduct.

Concerns relating to the taking of property without permission or consent, including through deceit.

Concerns relating to improper or unauthorized use of institutional resources, including equipment, and technology, and facilities, and including for personal gain.

Concerns relating to the activities of employee's applying for or receiving workers compensation, including submitting false documentation or exceeding physical limitations.
