Each member of the College community share responsibility for their ethical conduct and compliance with applicable laws and College policies and directives and to assume reasonable responsibility for the behavior of others. Vassar College is a community that exists based on shared values and principles. All members of this campus community are expected to uphold and abide by certain standards of conduct that form the basis of the Vassar College Regulations. These standards are embodied within a set of core values, including integrity, social justice, respect for community, and personal responsibility.
The College provides several channels for the reporting of activities that may involve unethical or illegal activities violations of College policies, including the Vassar College Policy on Reporting Improper or Unlawful Activities and Prohibition of Retaliation. Retaliation against anyone who reports a concern will not be tolerated.
We encourage you to first contact supervisor, manager, or coordinator. They are often in the best position to answer questions and take immediate action. If you don’t feel comfortable raising a concern with your supervisor, manager, or an area coordinator (or if your concern relates to them, or if you have previously told them but the issue has not been remedied), there are several ways you can report your concern to the College:
The College also receives concerns reported through the NAVEX/ EthicsPoint system, a third-party service where reports can be made anonymously. We will review any suspected violations reported via EthicsPoint following current College procedures, including those described in the College Regulations, Faculty Handbook, Administrative Handbook, or staff employment contracts. EthicsPoint does not supersede any existing reporting methods or protocols at Vassar College, and we encourage you to report concerns to the resources listed above directly.
See the EthicsPoint FAQs for more information.
You may use either of the following two methods to submit a report:
After you complete your report you will be assigned a unique code called a "report key." Write down your report key and password and keep them in a safe place. After 5-6 business days, use your report key and password to check your report for feedback or questions.
