About McAfee’s Ethics Helpline provided by NAVEX EthicsPoint

What is NAVEX EthicsPoint (hereinafter referred to as the Ethics Helpline)?

EthicsPoint is a comprehensive and confidential reporting tool created by NAVEX that enables employees, independent contractors, consultants, suppliers, partners and all others who do business with McAfee to report concerns about potential violations of the law, our Code of Conduct, or company policy. McAfee engages a third party to manage our Ethics Helpline so we can accept anonymous reports.

Why do we need an Ethics Helpline?

We are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and fostering a culture of integrity. Our Ethics Helpline serves as a confidential and secure resource for employees and all others who do business with McAfee to seek guidance, report concerns, and address ethical dilemmas. Together, we aim to create an environment where individuals feel empowered to speak up without fear of retaliation, ensuring that ethical issues are promptly addressed and resolved.

McAfee team members may also submit concerns to their manager or management chain, People Success, or Ethics and Compliance.

By law in the European Union, in some circumstances you can report reasonable suspicions of unlawful conduct to an external agency. Please follow this link to learn more about those agencies.

Reporting – General

How can I report a concern through the Ethics Helpline?

The Ethics Helpline provides a secure way to report concerns, allowing you to choose between anonymous reporting or providing your contact information. You can submit a report via phone or the Internet, giving you the flexibility and control over how you communicate with us.

What type of situations should I report?

Individuals may report any violation of the law, our Code of Conduct, company policy, or other concerns you may have.

Why should I report a concern?

Maintaining uncompromising integrity and professionalism is a shared responsibility at McAfee. We must all act ethically and report any concerns to ensure a healthy and productive work environment. By working together, we can uphold our company’s values and standards.

Where do these reports go? Who can access them?

Reports are entered directly on the NAVEX EthicsPoint secure server. NAVEX EthicsPoint makes these reports available only to McAfee’s Ethics and Compliance Organization and the Chief Compliance officer, depending on the type of violation and location of the incident, other individuals within McAfee may receive access. Each of these report recipients has had training in keeping these reports in the utmost confidence.

Reporting Security & Confidentiality

Can you see my IP address?

NAVEX EthicsPoint does not generate or maintain any internal connection logs with IP addresses, so no information linking your PC to the Ethics Helpline is available.

If I submit a concern via the phone is it confidential and anonymous too?

Yes. You will be asked to provide the same information that you would provide in an Internet-based report and a NAVEX interviewer will type your responses into the Ethics Helpline site. These reports have the same security and confidentiality measures applied to them during delivery.

What if I want to be identified with my report?

There is a section in the report to identify yourself, if you wish. Remember, having more information is helpful when reviewing a concern.

Tips & Best Practices

I am not sure if what I have observed or heard is a violation of company policy, or involves unethical conduct, but it just does not look right to me. What should I do?

File a report. We'd rather you report a situation that turns out to be harmless than let possible unethical behavior continue.

What if I remember something important about my concern after I file the report? Or what if McAfee has further questions for me concerning my report?

When you file a report through the Internet or by phone, you receive a unique, randomized number called a “Report Key” and are asked to choose a password. You can return to the Ethics Helpline again either by Internet or phone and access the original report to add more detail or answer questions posed by the person responsible for reviewing your concern. We strongly suggest that you return to the site often for follow-up questions and updates.

Will I receive updates about my report?

Yes, we will acknowledge receipt of your report within 5 business days. We typically have follow-up questions, so we encourage you to check into the Ethics Helpline frequently. We aim to conclude reviews within 90 days, where possible.

I’m afraid of being retaliated against for submitting a concern, what should I do?

We are committed to maintaining a workplace that encourages open communication, ethical behavior, and accountability. We prohibit any form of retaliation against parties who report issues in good faith, ask questions, or participate in an investigation. If you believe you have been retaliated against for submitting a concern or participating in an investigation, please report it immediately through the Ethics Helpline or by emailing ethics@mcafee.com.

What if I lose my Report Key or forget the Password I created?

To ensure that security and confidentiality is maintained, if you lose your report key or password, you will need to file a new report. Mention in the new report that it is related to a report or question you previously submitted.

What if I have questions about McAfee products or need technical support?

If you are a customer seeking support with product installation, billing, refunds, or other product questions please direct your inquiry to Support.
