The Freddie Mac Employee Code of Conduct (Code) requires all employees to avoid situations where actual or apparent questions of loyalty arise between an employee’s personal interests and the company’s interests or the employee’s responsibilities to Freddie Mac. The Code and its underlying policies require disclosures of certain actual or potential conflict situations and pre-clearance requests in real time, using the four forms below.

• What types of disclosures are required?
Any disclosures related to:
  • Accepting gifts and entertainment that exceed policy limits
  • Outside activities involving a Third Party (work, consulting, board or advisor member position)
  • Elected or appointed political office
  • Working as real estate agent/broker
  • Employment of a family member with a Third Party
  • Ownership interest in a Third Party
  • Relationships with our External Auditor (PwC)
  • Pre-clearance under the Personal Investments Policy
• When do I need to submit a disclosure?
As soon as you become aware of the conflict or potential conflict.
• Do I need pre-approval from my manager to submit a disclosure?
Yes, prior manager approval is required before submitting the following disclosures:
  • Work as a real estate agent or broker
  • Outside employment with a Third Party
  • Outside Board or advisory committee
  • Political appointment or elected office
• How soon should I expect a response to my disclosure?
All efforts will be made to provide an initial preliminary response within 24 hours.
• How do I follow up on a disclosure?
Here's how to follow up: when you make a disclosure at the EthicsPoint Web site or through the EthicsPoint Call Center, you receive a unique user name and are asked to choose a password. You can return to the EthicsPoint system again either by Internet or telephone to access your original report.
• Can I submit a disclosure on behalf of someone else?
You may submit these forms on behalf of your Immediate Family and Household Member. Administrative assistants may submit business courtesy disclosures on behalf of their managers. All other disclosures must be made by the disclosing employee.
• What is the definition of Third Parties?
Third Parties are external business associates (individuals or entities) including Interested Parties, Government Employees and Foreign Government Employees (e.g., external business partner, customer, servicer, vendor or industry member). An Interested Party is a person or entity seeking to do or doing business with Freddie Mac or who has interests that may be substantially affected by Freddie Mac’s actions, including housing related trade or industry association, or an entity to which Freddie Mac contributes funds/resources, or that is in the residential housing, mortgage or mortgage securitization business. Customers, servicers, vendors, and underwriters of debt securities are examples of Interested Parties.
