ABOUT THE CHEMOURS ETHICS HOTLINE
The Ethics Hotline is a service provided by Chemours that allows anyone — employees, customers, suppliers, or members of the general public — to ask questions, raise concerns, report potential ethical violations, or follow-up on questions or concerns about issues which they have already raised.
The Ethics Hotline is operated by NAVEX, an independent company and the market leader in providing hotline services. Chemours uses an independent third-party to operate the Ethics Hotline to give employees an added level of confidence that their reports are recorded impartially and will remain anonymous, when applicable.
- As the Code of Conduct and Speak Up Policy explain, it is every employees’ responsibility to speak up. The Ethics Hotline provides an essential avenue for employees to share concerns and raise issues.
- We believe that our employees are our most important asset. By creating open channels of communication, we promote a positive work environment, an ethical culture, and a great place to work.
- Leadership wants to know how we’re doing. Moreover, management wants to ensure we correct any issues or impediments to doing business ethically. When employees and other stakeholders, such as customers or suppliers, speak up they are providing critical information that allows Chemours to thrive.
- An effective reporting system is a key element of a successful compliance program and is critical to fostering a culture of integrity and ethical business practices.
- Additionally, as a publicly traded company, we are required by law to have an anonymous reporting system to escalate accounting and auditing fraud directly to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.

You can file an Ethics Hotline report from any computer that has access to the Internet. If you don’t have access or are uncomfortable reporting your concern via the website, you can call the NAVEX toll-free hotline which is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Dialing instructions vary by country. Please verify the proper dialing instructions by clicking “Dialing Instructions” at the top of the homepage.
The Ethics Hotline is designed for employees and other stakeholders to report possible violations of the Chemours Code of Conduct, company policies or the law, as well as suspicious activity, workplace issues, or any other concerns you may have. You can even ask a question. Please provide as much detail as possible to allow for a thorough evaluation of your report.
Speak up and submit a report! Provide as much detail as possible. We would rather you report a situation that turns out to be harmless than let possible unethical behavior go unchecked or a problem to fester.
If you provide your contact information a company representative may contact you directly. Additionally, the Ethics Hotline allows company representatives to post questions and comments for you, even if you report anonymously. When you submit a report anonymously, you will have the option of providing an email address to be notified when a company representative has posted a question or comment. Chemours will not have access to your email address, and we strongly encourage you to use this option as it facilitates dialogue. Regardless of whether you anonymously provide an email address, when you submit a report, you will receive a report key number and create a password allowing you to access your case any time. We suggest you check periodically to see if any questions or comments have been posted. Engaging in dialogue and answering any questions will help ensure situations can be effectively investigated and resolved.
Yes, any of those reporting options will work! When an employee observes behavior they believe may violate our Code of Conduct, company policy or the law, they have a responsibility to speak up. You can certainly bring any concerns forward to management, Human Resources, your Ethics Champion, or Ethics & Compliance. In fact, your manager is often the best person to go to because they may have the knowledge to readily understand and respond to your concern. We recognize, however, that there may be circumstances when you are not comfortable reporting an issue in person. That’s why we have the Ethics Hotline. We would rather you report anonymously than keep the valuable information to yourself.
Absolutely! In fact, the Code of Conduct and the Speak Up Policy make it clear that we have a responsibility to report possible violates of the Code, company policy or the law. Reporting concerns allows the company to address problems before they become more serious and allows Chemours to be better. Speaking up is essential to our success.
Integrity is a critical value at Chemours. Unethical conduct, at any level, hurts the company and all employees, including you. Just look at news reports about corporate scandals to see the disastrous effects a lapse in ethics can have on an otherwise healthy, reputable company. If you know of any incidents of misconduct or ethical violations, consider it your duty to yourself and to your coworkers to report it. We all have a responsibility to speak up!
SECURITY & CONFIDENTIALITY
Yes. A report from any computer will remain secure and be anonymous. This internet portal never identifies a visitor by screen name and the system strips away identifying information, such as an IP address, so that anonymity is maintained. NAVEX, the third-party provider, is prohibited from pursuing a reporter’s identity. The Company will not know the identity of a reporter unless it is self-disclosed. Telephonic reports have the same security and confidentiality protection as web-based reports.
The Ethics Hotline is designed to protect your anonymity. NAVEX is prohibited from trying to determine a reporter’s identity. If you wish to remain anonymous, you should be careful not reveal any identifying details as part of your report. For example, avoid statements such as: “from my workstation next to Jan Smith … ” or “in my 33 years of working at this plant…” Nonetheless, know that Chemours respects a reporter’s wish to remain anonymous and maintains confidentiality to the fullest extent possible.
Reports are entered directly to a secure server and are immediately made available only to specific individuals within Chemours who are specially trained and charged with managing the Hotline and evaluating reports. The information provided in the report will be forwarded, as needed, to the appropriate Chemours personnel for further evaluation, investigation and response.
We do not tolerate threats, intimidation, or retaliation against anyone who in good faith raises a concern or reports suspected misconduct. Retaliation includes adverse actions, harassment, or discrimination in your employment relating to your reporting of a suspected violation.
No one may take any adverse action against any employee or Third Party for in good faith complaining about, reporting, or participating or assisting in the investigation of, a reasonably suspected violation of our Code, Company policies, or applicable laws and regulations. The Company takes reports of such retaliation seriously. Incidents of retaliation against any employee reporting a violation or participating in the investigation of a reasonably suspected violation will result in appropriate disciplinary action against anyone responsible, including possible termination of employment. Those working for or with the Company who engage in retaliation against reporting employees may also be subject to civil, criminal and administrative penalties.
TIPS & BEST PRACTICES
A very limited number of Chemours employees have access to the Hotline and reports are evaluated and shared with great care. Furthermore, the automated Ethics Hotline report distribution protocols are designed so implicated employees, including manager are not notified about or granted access to reports in which they have been named. The only exception is in countries where implicated parties are required to be notified by law.
When you file a report, either using the Internet or through the toll-free telephone hotline, you receive a unique report key number and are asked to select a password. With the report key and your password, you can return to the Ethics Hotline again, either by internet or telephone, and access the original report. At that point, you can add more information.
If the telephone number provided under “Dialing Instructions” is not functioning, please submit your report online through this website. Please indicate in the report that the telephone number did not work.
If there is no telephone number listed for your location, please submit your report online through this web site. Please indicate in the report that telephone instructions for your country location were not available.
