General Motors created Speak Up for Safety and the Employee Safety Concern Process to make it easier for salaried, hourly, and contract employees to report potential product or workplace safety issues or suggest safety related improvements.

As part of our commitment to put customers at the center of everything we do, we make product and workplace safety a foundational commitment – never compromised.

Product Safety

Report a potential product or product safety issue, or suggest safety-related improvements.

GM’s Product Safety program receives reports on:

  • Issues and concerns about past and present production products. For potential issues with future production products please submit through PRTS.
  • Suggestions as to how to improve GM’s future processes
  • Other potential product safety issues (features, systems, components, etc.)

Workplace Safety

The Employee Safety Concern Process is the most efficient way to identify and resolve workplace safety issues.

Remember: if you see a safety concern, take responsibility: Act and resolve it. If it can't be fixed easily:

  • Report it to your supervisor
  • Discuss how it can be resolved and who can help

If the safety concern cannot be resolved in 24 hours, use the link below to record the concern on the tracking tool for your site.
