At The Hartford, every employee shares the responsibility to report unethical and inappropriate conduct, as required by the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct. Employees owe it to themselves, their co-workers, our shareholders and partners to protect the company’s reputation by reporting any known or suspected violations of law, regulations or company policy.
You may report any concern you have about any kind of misconduct, including issues involving auditing, internal controls, accounting matters, theft, fraud, conflicts of interest or other suspected unethical or illegal conduct at The Hartford. It is always better to speak up about your concerns than to be silent about behavior that could put the company’s reputation at risk.
Company policy and applicable laws prohibit retaliation against anyone who, in good faith, reports a violation of any law, rule, regulation or provision of the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct. The company will not tolerate any unlawful retaliation.
The Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer reports aggregated data and trends related to unethical activities or employee misconduct to the Audit Committee semi-annually, ensuring the committee is well-informed to make decisions to uphold the integrity and ethical standards of the organization.
The EthicsPoint reporting options above are in addition to the traditional communication methods available to report concerns.
