Valdosta State University is committed to providing an ethical, efficient, and effective work environment for its employees. VSU places a high priority on improving customer service, fostering positive morale among employees, reducing wasted time and resources, and ultimately improving productivity. The responsibility to protect the valuable state resources is entrusted to every member of the VSU community. Reporting issues that may jeopardize this productive work environment is important to its overall success.

VSU has collaborated with Global Compliance, to provide an alternative method for reporting concerns associated with suspected fraud, waste, and abuse as well as harassment that may directly affect stewardship responsibilities. VSU employees are highly encouraged, but not required, to use the established supervisory chain prior to utilizing the “Hotline” system.

Additionally, the Hotline is designed to solicit questions, comments, and feedback to improve VSU’s operational standards. Input from the campus community is essential for VSU to maintain a positive and productive workplace environment.

State law and Board of Regents policy strictly prohibits any retaliatory action against an employee in response to reporting alleged wrongdoings (even if the investigation later finds no wrongdoing). Retaliatory action by an employee can subject that individual to termination and also subjects the institution to legal action.

Sincerely,
Dr. Richard Carvajal
President
