About EthicsPoint

What is EthicsPoint?

EthicsPoint is a third-party confidential reporting tool created by NAVEX that allows employees to report their concerns to Avery Dennison.

Why do we need a system like EthicsPoint?

  • Our employees are our most important asset. By creating open communication channels, we promote a positive work environment and maximize productivity.
  • An effective reporting system augments our other efforts to foster a culture of integrity and ethical decision-making.

Reporting – General

How can I report a concern?

Avery Dennison employees can report concerns to their manager, Human Resources, or Legal teams. If you’d like to report an anonymous concern, you can do so via the online form or the phone.

Why should I report a concern?

The EthicsPoint system allows employees to report any violation of our Code of Ethics, Policies, or other concerns you may have.

When you observe some behavior that you believe violates our Code of Ethics, we expect you to report it. We all have the right to work in a positive environment. With that right comes the responsibility of acting ethically and letting the appropriate people know if someone is not acting appropriately. By working together, we can maintain a healthy and productive environment.

Does management really want me to report?

We certainly do. In fact, we need you to report. You know what is going on in our company - both good and bad. You may have initial knowledge of an activity that may cause concern. Your reporting can minimize the potential negative impact on the company and our people. Also, offering positive input may help identify issues that can improve corporate culture and performance.

What happens when I report a concern?

Reports are entered directly on the EthicsPoint secure server. NAVEX makes these reports available only to specific individuals in Avery Dennison’s Legal team and they only share them with the appropriate partners.

Reporting Security & Confidentiality

Can I report a concern anonymously?

Yes. You have the option to report and follow up on a concern anonymously. If you make an anonymous report, it may be more difficult to investigate an anonymous concern due to difficulty in obtaining specific details and/or answers to follow-up questions.

How does my report stay confidential?

Reports submitted through EthicsPoint are handled by Avery Dennison’s Legal team. All disclosures of suspected wrongdoing are handled in a confidential and sensitive manner to maintain your privacy. Confidential means that your identity will be shared only with those who have a need to know in order to effectively conduct any investigation and follow-up action (including, if necessary, disciplinary action) on your concern, or where there is a legal requirement to share your identity.

Will my company-issued computer or server logs identify me as the report originator?

NAVEX does not generate or maintain any internal connection logs with IP addresses, so no information linking your PC to EthicsPoint is available.

Can I file a report from the phone and remain anonymous?

Yes. You will be asked to provide the same information that you would provide in an online report. An interviewer will type your responses into the EthicsPoint server, create a report, and provide you with information on how to follow up on your report.

What if I want to be identified with my report?

There is a section in the report to identify yourself if you wish.

Can I update or revise my report after I submit it?

When you file a report, you will receive a unique username and select a password. You can then return to EthicsPoint online or by phone to access your original report and add more details or updates.

All EthicsPoint correspondences are held in the same strict confidence as the initial report, continuing under the umbrella of anonymity.
