What to Expect During the Investigation Process

  1. Your options when you report:
    • Report by calling the EthicsPoint hotline number for your country or report by entering it online.
    • You may identify yourself when you report or report anonymously.
  2. You will receive confirmation:
    • After you complete your report, you will receive an assigned Report Key and will choose a Password. Please write them down and keep them in a safe place. Within 7-10 business days, use your report key and password to check your report for feedback or questions.
      • The Report Key and Password are essential if you reported anonymously and did not share your contact information; you will need to use the Report Key and Password when you call back or follow up on the EthicsPoint hotline site.
      • If you lose your Report Key or Password, you will need to submit a new report.
    • If you shared your contact information, you may receive a follow-up call or email for most matters if the investigator needs additional information.
  3. Based on the type of inquiry or allegation, Ethics, Privacy & Governance will assign your report to an investigation partner.
    • Your concern, if sufficient information is provided, is researched, investigated, and resolved where possible.
    • The length of time to complete each case depends on its complexity.
  4. You can add details or check for updates:
    • Call back or return to the EthicsPoint hotline website with your Report Key and Password to:
      • Add information to the Follow Up section of your report or upload files, regardless of whether your original report was by phone or online.
      • If reported anonymously, check for follow-up questions from your assigned investigator.
    • If you provided contact information, you may receive updates by phone or email depending on the nature of your concern.
  5. When your case is resolved:
    • Based on the findings of your case, a range of disciplinary and non-disciplinary outcomes will be considered. Due to confidentiality, these outcomes are generally not shared.
    • For reports with contact information on file, you will be informed when your report is closed.
    • For anonymous reports, report closure information will be available online or telephonically using your assigned Report Key and Password.
