EthicsPoint: Our Commitment to Speaking Up

What is EthicsPoint?

EthicsPoint is the Foundation’s confidential, third-party reporting system provided by NAVEX. It provides Foundation team members and leaders a secure and confidential environment to work together in identifying and addressing concerns such as fraud, misuse of resources, unethical behavior, or other misconduct. It’s one more way we reinforce a culture rooted in trust, integrity, and accountability.

Why EthicsPoint Matters

  • Our team members are our greatest strength. Creating a secure and confidential channel for communicating difficult or uncomfortable topics supports a positive work environment where everyone can do their best work and bring concerns to the attention of leadership.
  • EthicsPoint complements our existing efforts to maintain a culture of integrity by providing an accessible, reliable option for raising concerns—especially when direct conversations may feel difficult or uncomfortable.

Reporting – General Guidance

Can’t I just tell my manager or HR?

Of course, team members are encouraged to speak directly with their manager or another leader whenever possible. However, we understand that certain situations may feel sensitive. In those moments, EthicsPoint offers an alternative—from anonymous reporting to confidential follow-up.

We’d rather you report a concern anonymously than keep important information to yourself.

Why is reporting important?

We all share responsibility for preserving a respectful, ethical workplace. When someone raises a concern, it helps us address issues early, protect one another, and prevent harm to the organization and our people.

What should I report?

EthicsPoint is designed for reporting any concern related to our workplace or any behavior that doesn’t seem consistent with our values, expectations, or policies.

How can I submit a report in EthicsPoint?

You may file a report online or by telephone, whichever you are more comfortable doing. You may choose to disclose your identity or remain anonymous.

Does leadership truly want team members to report?

Yes—your voice and input matters. Team members are the eyes and ears of the organization, and you often become aware of things that leadership is not. Your willingness to share your concerns can help minimize risks and strengthen our culture. Reporting concerns helps the Foundation to operate with transparency and integrity.

Where do reports go? Who reviews them?

Reports submitted directly to EthicsPoint’s are placed on its secure server. EthicsPoint then routes the report to the appropriate leaders at the Foundation for review, investigation and response. EthicsPoint employs trained individuals to evaluate reports based on its nature and location. Access is strictly limited to protect confidentiality. If a report is submitted anonymously, Foundation leadership is not able to know who submitted it.

Is EthicsPoint meant to monitor team members?

Not at all. EthicsPoint is a secure communication tool—built to help all Foundation team members keep our workplace safe, ethical, and compliant. It gives team members a way to raise concerns, ask questions, or seek guidance securely, remotely and even anonymously when doing so in person may not be comfortable.

Reporting Security & Confidentiality

Will reporting from a Foundation computer or my personal device identify me?

No. EthicsPoint does not create or store connection logs or IP addresses or phone numbers. They are contractually prohibited from pursuing the identity of a reporter. If you prefer not to use your work computer, you may also submit a report using any personal or public device. Many people choose this option.

If I desire to remain anonymous, how do I ensure I don’t accidentally reveal my identity?

If you prefer anonymity, avoid including details that could directly identify you (e.g., “from my desk next to…” or “in my 33 years here…”).

Is the toll-free hotline also anonymous?

Yes. Whether you report online or by phone, the same confidentiality safeguards apply. A trained interviewer will input your information into the secure system on your behalf.

Do I have to remain anonymous - what if I want to include my name?

You may certainly identify yourself if you choose. There is a specific field in the reporting form for doing so.

Tips & Best Practices

What if I’m unsure whether something is a policy violation?

Trust your gut instinct; when in doubt—report it. EthicsPoint can help you articulate what you’ve observed so it can be properly evaluated. It’s better to share a concern that turns out to be harmless than overlook something genuinely significant and concerning.

What if my supervisor or another leader is involved?

EthicsPoint’s routing rules ensure that individuals named in a report do not receive or access that report.

What if I recall additional information later?

After filing a report, you’ll receive a unique username and password that allow you to return to the system—online or by phone—to:

  • add new details
  • answer follow-up questions
  • participate in secure, anonymous dialogue with those reviewing the report

This collaborative process helps resolve even complex issues with care and thoroughness.

Are follow-up conversations also confidential?

Yes. All communication within EthicsPoint is managed under the same strict confidentiality and anonymity protections as the original report.

What if I don’t have Internet access?

You can always report by calling the toll-free EthicsPoint hotline, available 24/7, 365 days a year.
