Integrity Line

About EthicsPoint

What is EthicsPoint?

EthicsPoint is a confidential reporting tool operated by NAVEX that enables stakeholders to work together to address concerns about conduct that does not align with Intuit’s Values, our Code of Conduct & Ethics, our policies, or the law.

Why do we need a system like EthicsPoint?

At Intuit, we do the right thing for our stakeholders and live up to our value of Integrity Without Compromise by speaking up if we see or hear about something that is not aligned to our Code of Conduct & Ethics, our Values, our policies, or the law. The Integrity Line is an important reporting channel that allows people to reach out, anonymously if they wish, about anything that raises ethical concerns.

May I report using either the Internet or the telephone?

Yes. EthicsPoint enables you to file a confidential, anonymous report via either the telephone or the Internet.

What types of situations should I report?

The EthicsPoint system allows you to report any concerns about conduct that is not aligned to Intuit’s Code of Conduct & Ethics, our Values, our policies, or the law.

Where do these reports go? Who can access them?

Reports are entered directly on the EthicsPoint secure server. NAVEX makes these reports available only to specific individuals within the company who are responsible for evaluating the report, based on the type of concern. Once a report is received, we are thoughtful in maintaining confidentiality to the extent that we can and protecting the person who submitted the report from any form of retaliation (or victimisation outside of the U.S.).

Why should I use EthicsPoint to raise a concern?

EthicsPoint is one of the ways we embody our Value of Integrity Without Compromise. Speaking up is the first step and plays a vital role in helping us maintain a safe, ethical and inclusive work environment at Intuit. We have carefully chosen this reporting tool to meet our compliance obligations while maintaining a safe, ethical, and inclusive work environment.

If I send a report from an Intuit laptop, won’t the company be able to identify me as the report originator?

NAVEX does not generate or maintain any internal connection logs with IP addresses, so no information linking your device to EthicsPoint is available.

If you feel uncomfortable making a report on your work device, you have the option of using a device outside our work environment through the EthicsPoint secure website.

Can I file a report from home and still remain anonymous?

Any will remain secure and anonymous. The EthicsPoint system strips away Internet addresses so that anonymity is totally maintained.

I am concerned that the information I provide EthicsPoint will ultimately reveal my identity. How can you assure me that will not happen?

The EthicsPoint system protects your anonymity. If you wish to remain anonymous, you - as a reporting party - need to ensure that the body of the report does not reveal your identity by accident. For example, “From my cube next to Jan Smith…” or “In my 33 years…”. However, please provide enough information for Intuit to properly address your concern.

Is the telephone toll-free hot line confidential and anonymous too?

Yes. You will be asked to provide the same information that you would provide in an Internet-based report and an interviewer will type your responses into the EthicsPoint Web site. These reports have the same security and confidentiality measures applied to them during delivery.

What if I want to be identified with my report?

There is a section in the report to identify yourself, if you wish.

What if I remember something important about the incident after I file the report? Or what if the company has further questions for me concerning my report?

When you file a report at the EthicsPoint Web site or through the EthicsPoint Call Center, you receive a unique, randomized number called a “Report Key” and are asked to choose a password. You can return to the EthicsPoint system again either by Internet or telephone and access the original report to add more detail or answer questions posed by a company representative. We strongly suggest that you return to the site in the time specified to answer company questions.

Are these follow-ups on reports as secure as the first one?

All EthicsPoint correspondences are held in the same manner as the initial report.

What if I lose my Report Key or forget the Password I created?

To ensure that security and confidentiality is maintained, if you lose your report key or password, you will need to file a new report. Mention in the new report that it is related to a report or question you previously submitted.

Can I still file a report if I don’t have access to the Internet?

You can file an EthicsPoint report from any computer that can access the Internet. If you don’t have access to or are uncomfortable using a computer, you can call the EthicsPoint toll-free hotline, which is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

About Investigations at Intuit

Intuit is committed to fostering a safe, ethical, and inclusive work environment.

Our Ethics & Investigations team acts as an impartial, centralized group that champions and protects Intuit's ethical culture. We help build ethics awareness across the company so we all do the right thing for all our stakeholders and live up to our value of Integrity Without Compromise.

Another core part of our work is conducting ethics investigations. Intuit takes concerns about conduct that may not be in line with its safe, ethical and inclusive work environment seriously. We promptly respond to and address any concerns brought to our attention by conducting thorough investigations, seeking to understand what happened before forming an opinion, taking into account all sides, and treating all involved with dignity and respect.

We conduct investigations when we learn about potential violations of the Code, Intuit's policies, or the law, and there is a question or disagreement about what happened.

Our end-to-end approach to investigations is designed to provide a balanced and impartial process for those involved in a situation and to help us reach reasoned conclusions about what happened. It's also designed to give appropriate visibility and transparency at the right level throughout the process, from when concerns are first raised through the conclusion of identified corrective actions.

Every manager at Intuit is required to report any known or suspected behavior or conduct that's not aligned to Intuit's Code of Conduct & Ethics (the "Code"), our company policies or values, or just doesn't feel right. We also want all employees to report any similar conduct they experience, see, or hear about, even if it didn't happen to them, within their team, or to someone they know.

We know it's not always easy to speak up and that it takes courage, but we can't look into your concerns if we don't know about them. Please know that once a report is made, we are thoughtful in maintaining confidentiality to the extent that we can and protecting you from any form of retaliation (or victimization outside of the U.S.). Speaking up is the first step and plays a vital role in helping us maintain a safe, ethical and inclusive work environment at Intuit.
