What is the Speak Up Line?

The Speak Up Line (Concernline) is a resource to raise questions or concerns regarding workplace issues, including, for example, issues related to any of the following:

  • Code of Conduct
  • Ethics and Conflict of Interest Policy
  • Equal Employment Opportunity Policy (Non-Discrimination)
  • Non-Harassment Policy
  • Disclosure of Confidential Information
  • Fraud or Theft
  • Product Quality and Safety
  • Team Member Health and Safety

The Speak Up Line allows you to remain anonymous. The reporting system is administered by an independent third party, NAVEX, which hosts our Speak Up Line in EthicsPoint, and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with local language operators available.

Why does Toyota have a Speak Up Line?

The Speak Up Line is part of Toyota’s Speak Up Program. As Toyota team members, we have an obligation to behave in a way that exemplifies the highest standards of ethical behavior and is reflective of the kind of culture we’re trying to build – one that prioritizes our customer by delivering safe and high quality products and encourages people to speak up when we see something in our operations/business that represents anything less.

We encourage you to talk to your supervisor or Human Resources, but we recognize that there may be times when you do not feel comfortable doing so. For that reason, we offer the Speak Up Line, which allows team members to raise questions or concerns anonymously, via phone call, mobile application, or the website.

What may I report?

You may raise any question or report any concern that you believe requires further investigation. Those questions or concerns might involve or affect Toyota Motor North America, Toyota Financial Services, Toyota Financial Savings Bank, Toyota Motor Sales, Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing, Toyota Logistics Services, or other affiliated company.

The Speak Up Line should not be used for immediate threats to life or property. Those matters should be reported to your local Security Department or law enforcement immediately.

Will I have to give my name?

No. While most issues can be better addressed when the person who has raised the concern provides identifying information, you do not have to provide your name to the Speak Up Line and can remain anonymous.

Will my report be kept confidential?

Any research or investigations will be performed discreetly and as confidentially as possible. Report details and results will be shared only on a strictly need to know basis.

Who may submit a report?

The Speak Up Line is available to team members as well as to contingent workers, vendors, customers and other business partners.

It is anonymous.

The specialist may also help you add information to your report. If you make an anonymous report, you may be asked for additional information. Log on to the website and use your Report Key and Password to access your report. You will then be able to see any questions or requests for information. You can respond to those directly in the system and remain anonymous. You can also add additional information via this method at any time.

Will I be able to review my report?

Regardless of the method initially used to submit your report, you may call the toll-free number or return to the website to review the information you submitted at any time after your report is filed. If using the toll-free number, provide the Speak Up Line Specialist with your unique Report Key and Password. If using the website or mobile app, use your unique Report Key and Password to login.

Will I be able to update my report?

As long as your case remains open, you may answer questions and add information by using either the phone or the website regardless of the method initially used to submit your report.

What if I lose my Report Key or password?

For confidentiality and security purposes, you will always be required to provide your Report Key and password to access your report. It is extremely important to write down and retain your Report Key and password because:

  • your original Report Key cannot be reissued,
  • a new Report Key cannot be generated, and you will not be able to create a new password.

If you lose your Report Key or Password and you no longer have access to your report, your report will continue to be assessed.
