Yes. With NAVEX, you have the ability to file a report via either the telephone or the Internet.
The NAVEX system is designed for employees to report any violation of our stated Code of Conduct, or another concern you may have.
All employees have a duty to timely report any known or perceived violation of the Code of Business Conduct (https://www.sempra.com/sites/default/files/content/files/node-media-document/2021/CodeofBusinessConduct-2021_updates.pdf) or the law. All concerns can be reported to your supervisor or any of the contacts listed in the Code. If you don’t feel comfortable talking to your supervisor directly, or are not satisfied with your supervisor’s response, you may contact another member of management, Human Resources, the Chief Ethics Officer (Ethics@sempra.com) or the Ethics & Compliance Helpline (US: 800-793-7723, Mexico: 001-770-582-5249 or EthicsHelpline@sempra.com). Concerns can be raised anonymously through the Ethics & Compliance Helpline.
If you are a customer, supplier or contractor for a Sempra Energy company, you may also report concerns through the Ethics & Compliance Helpline (US: 800-793-7723, Mexico: 001-770-582-5249 or EthicsHelpline@sempra.com).
Shareholders, employees and other interested persons who wish to communicate with the audit committee of Sempra Energy’s board of directors may do so by writing to the committee care of Sempra Energy’s corporate secretary (at SempraAuditCmte@sempra.com). The purpose of the audit committee is to assist the board of directors in fulfilling the board’s oversight responsibilities regarding: the corporation’s internal controls over financial reporting, the integrity of the corporation’s financial statements, the corporation’s compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, the qualification and independence of the independent auditor, and the performance of the corporation’s internal audit function and independent auditor.
Employees, contractors, or subcontractors for SDG&E and Southern California Gas Company may also report suspected unsafe, unlawful, or dishonest activity to the California Public Utilities Commission’s Whistleblower hotline (https://www.cpuc.ca.gov/consumer-support/file-a-complaint/whistleblower-complaint or 800-649-7570).
When you observe some behavior you believe violates our code of conduct, we expect you to report it. Ideally, you should bring any concerns forward to your direct manager or other member of our management team. We recognize, however, that there may be circumstances when you are not comfortable reporting the issue in this manner. It is for such circumstances we have partnered with NAVEX. We would rather you report anonymously (where permitted by local laws) than keep the information to yourself.
We all have the right to work in a positive environment. With that right comes the responsibility of acting in an ethical manner and letting the appropriate people know if someone is not acting appropriately. By working together, we can maintain a healthy and productive environment. Corporate misconduct can threaten the livelihood of an entire company.
We certainly do. In fact, we need you to report. You know what is going on in our company - both good and bad. You may have initial knowledge of an activity that may be cause for concern. Your reporting can minimize the potential negative impact on the company and our people. Also, offering positive input may help identify issues that can improve corporate culture and performance.
Reports are entered directly to a NAVEX secure server to prevent any possible breach in security. NAVEX makes these reports available only to specific individuals within the company who are charged with evaluating the report, based on the type of violation and location of the incident. Each of these report recipients has had training in keeping these reports in the utmost confidence.
The NAVEX system concentrates on being a positive aspect of our overall philosophy, and it allows us to foster a safe, secure, and ethical workplace.
We have carefully chosen the best reporting tool to meet our compliance obligations while maintaining a positive reporting environment. You are strongly encouraged to report policy or ethics violations or any concerns you may have.
