Business Conduct Line – Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Business Conduct Line?

The Business Conduct Line is a reporting mechanism, powered by Cardinal Health’s partner, NAVEX. The mechanism offers anyone the ability to raise a concern or seek guidance regarding Cardinal Health’s business, either by phone or web report.

Why is the Business Conduct Line important?

Our employees are our most important asset. By creating open channels of communication, we promote a positive work environment. An effective reporting system supports our efforts to foster a culture of integrity, inclusivity, and ethical decision-making.

What types of situations should I report?

You are encouraged to make a report if you believe there is a violation of the Standards of Business Conduct as well as to seek guidance on ethical dilemmas, communicate concerns, or ask a question related to Ethics and Compliance topics or violations of Cardinal Health policies.

I am aware of some individuals acting unethically but it does not affect me. Why should I bother reporting it?

It is every employee’s duty to ensure we are upholding a culture of integrity, inclusivity, and ethical decision-making. We depend on our employees to make us aware of all unethical behavior, at any level. If you are aware of any misconduct or unethical behavior, consider it part of your responsibilities to report it.

I am not sure if what I have observed or heard is a violation of company policy or involves unethical conduct, but it just does not look right to me. What should I do?

We offer the “Ask a question” option for those who need to seek guidance on a specific situation or simply ask a question. You may also make a report and allow the Ethics & Compliance team to review the concerns and make a determination on next steps.

Why is it important to submit a report?

Cardinal Health is committed to ethical behavior. Reporting helps us protect our employees, our customers, and our business. We value the ability to address concerns and your reporting can help identify and mitigate risk across the organization.

How do I submit a report?

You may contact the Business Conduct Line by phone or web. To locate your local phone number, click “Report by phone” on the home page, select the applicable country and the corresponding phone number will populate for you to dial. NAVEX representatives are available for calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and offer translation services, if needed. To submit a report online, click “Report Online”, complete the prompted questions, and click “submit” to send the report. Where permitted by data privacy laws, you can choose to remain anonymous for both phone and web reports.

What if I remember something important about the report after I have submitted it?

When you file a report via phone or web, you receive a unique, randomized number called a “Report Key” and are asked to choose a password. You can return to the Business Conduct Line again either by phone or web and access the original report to add more detail or answer questions posed by Cardinal Health.

What happens after I have submitted a report?

Anonymous or named, and both phone and web reports are routed to the Cardinal Health Ethics & Compliance investigations team for review. An investigator may attempt to contact you via your report made to NAVEX; it is important to check back to ensure you are able to view those messages through the Business Conduct Line report message portal. Using the portal will allow you to maintain anonymity.

Where do these reports go and who can access them?

Both phone and web reports are entered directly on the NAVEX secure server. The reports are available only to specific individuals within the Cardinal Health Ethics & Compliance team that have access to review and read reports.

Does my computer generate a server log that shows every website my PC connects with, and won’t this log identify me as a report originator?

NAVEX does not generate or maintain any internal connection logs with IP addresses, so no information linking your PC to the Business Conduct Line is available.

What if I lose my report key or forget my password?

To preserve security and confidentiality is maintained, if you lose your report key or password, you will need to file a new report. Mention in the new report that it is related to a report or question you previously submitted.
