Cornell University has selected NAVEX, a leading national hotline service vendor, to provide you with a simple and anonymous (if desired) way to confidentially report activities that you believe may involve improper conduct or violations of Cornell University's Policies or applicable laws and regulations.
You may report a concern to Cornell University or its Weill Cornell Medicine division on this website or by calling NAVEX directly at toll-free number and speak to a person who will be following a Cornell specified script.
What Should Be Reported?
Report activities or conduct that you believe violate a state or federal law or University policy. This includes violations of Cornell’s Standards of Ethical Conduct Policy, life safety concerns, non-compliance with grants and contracts requirements, financial irregularities or mis-reporting, violations of applicable state or federal laws and regulations, conflicts of interest, and other related concerns.
What Should Not Be Reported?
IMPORTANT: This Hotline is not expected to receive concerns for:
- Emergencies (for emergencies, call 9-1-1)
- Issues for which the University does not have responsibility.
The University strongly encourages staff and other members of the Cornell community to report concerns of misconduct through normal lines of communication. Routine discussion with one's supervisor is the preferred initial method of resolution. If this is not possible or has proven unsatisfactory, alternatives are human resources, unit senior management, or the appropriate designated university office such as environmental health and safety, university audit, university counsel, university compliance or this hotline mechanism. The university hotline call service and reporting web page can be used for either direct or anonymous reporting. This hotline service does not replace or supersede existing established reporting methods and review processes.
Cornell asserts that reports submitted via NAVEX will be handled promptly and discreetly. No retaliatory action will be taken against anyone for reporting or inquiring in good faith about potential violations of Cornell University's policies or for seeking guidance on how to handle suspected violations.

Follow-up After Your Initial Report: We encourage reporters to return to this web site within 7 days of filing a report and periodically thereafter using the Report Key assigned by NAVEX and your private password. The university may require further information from you in order to proceed with a review or investigation or may have status information on your report. In either case, if you elected to report anonymously your anonymity will be protected by NAVEX using this mechanism.
