Who can make a report?
Anyone can file a report, NIKE employees or anyone external to NIKE.
Can I choose to report a concern either through the website or by telephone?
Yes, you have the ability to choose how you report your concerns or pose your questions, via this website or by telephone.
What should I report?
Through this site, you may report actual or suspected misconduct or concerns regarding NIKE's policies, standards or strategies, and applicable laws; including, but not limited to, human rights and/or environmental-related concerns, product safety and consumer protection, harassment, retaliation, discrimination, conflict of interest, corruption, accounting, financial reporting, fraud, theft, discount and comp product abuse, health, safety, privacy and protection of information.
What happens after I report my concern?
All concerns are thoroughly reviewed by NIKE and investigated, if necessary and when possible. Reports are entered directly to NAVEX's secure server to prevent possible breach in data security. These reports are shared only with specific individuals who need to know the information to review the report and to further investigate, if necessary. Your anonymity, if you requested it, will be preserved when sharing the report. Certain reports are brought to the attention of NIKE's Board of Directors even before they are reviewed and addressed.
IF I SEE A VIOLATION, SHOULDN'T I JUST REPORT IT TO MY MANAGER OR MEMBER OF THE MANAGEMENT TEAM AND LET THEM DEAL WITH IT?
When you observe behavior that you believe violates NIKE’s policies, standards or strategies or applicable laws, we expect you to report it. Ideally, you should bring any concerns forward to your manager or a member of the management team. We recognize, however, that there may be circumstances when you are not comfortable doing this. Reporting concerns through NAVEX allows you to remain anonymous, should you choose to do so.
Does management really want me to report?
Yes. In fact, we need you to report. Speaking Up is an important and integral part of NIKE's culture. We want everyone to fearlessly share thoughts and concerns – and NIKE does not tolerate retaliation against anyone who reports in good faith a suspected violation of law or policy, or who participates in any investigation of a suspected violation.
It is my understanding that any report I send from a company device generates a server log that shows every website my device connects with; won't this process identify me as a report originator, if I chose to remain anonymous?
NAVEX does not generate or maintain any internal connection logs with IP addresses; no information linking your device to NAVEX is available. In fact, NAVEX is contractually committed not to pursue a reporter's identity. You may choose to report your concern or ask a question either from your work device or a device outside the work environment (like at a library, friend's house, etc.) through this website.
Can I file a report from home and still remain anonymous?
Yes, you may choose to report your concern from a device outside work and remain anonymous. An Internet portal does not identify a visitor name and the NAVEX system strips away identifying information, such as an IP address, so that anonymity is maintained.
Is the telephone line toll-free, confidential and anonymous?
Yes, you can report your concerns over the telephone anonymously. Most telephone lines are toll-free and your concern is treated in strict confidence – only shared with specific individuals who need to know the information to review the report and to further investigate, if necessary.
What if I want to be identified with my report?
There is a section in the report where you may identify yourself, if you wish.
I am aware of some individuals involved with unethical conduct, but it doesn't affect me. Why should I bother reporting it?
You should report because NIKE believes that inspiration and innovation can only happen in a healthy and inclusive environment, and that all parties are accountable for supporting its culture. Any unethical conduct, at any level, whether it directly or indirectly concerns you, ultimately hurts NIKE and impacts its culture. NIKE encourages all parties to be accountable for doing the right thing and Speaking Up when you feel something does not feel right.
I am not sure if what I have observed or heard is a violation of NIKE's policies, standards, or strategies, or applicable laws or involves unethical conduct, but it just does not look right to me. What should I do?
Speak Up. NAVEX can help you prepare and file your report so it can be properly understood. We would rather you report a concern that turns out to be harmless than fail to address possibly unethical behavior because it was never reported. NIKE's anti-retaliation policy protects parties who bring forward concerns in good faith.
What if my manager or other managers are involved in a violation? Won't they get a copy of my report too?
The NAVEX system and report distribution protocols are designed so that only those who need to know the information for the purposes of review, investigation or resolution have access to the report. Nobody implicated as a party in the report is granted access to it.
What if I remember something important about the incident after I file the report?
When you file a report either online or by phone, you will receive a unique report key and select a password. With the report key and password, you can return again, either by internet or telephone, and access the original report. At that point, you can add more details, if you choose.
What if NIKE has follow-up questions for me concerning my report, if I chose to report anonymously?
NAVEX Communication Specialists can post questions for you, even if you report anonymously. We strongly advise you to check back (using your report key and password) occasionally after the report is filed, to see if any questions have been posted. All responses you provide to the follow-up questions are treated as confidential. Providing opportunity for such dialogue means situations may not only be identified but can also be resolved, no matter how complex.
Is it possible to check/rectify my report?
Yes, you can rectify/change the details of your report in the web portal whether you report via web portal or telephone.
Can I still file a report if I don't have access to the Internet?
If you do not have access to a computer or internet, you can call the NAVEX toll-free number which is available 365 days per year. Dialing instructions are by country and can be found here.
What should I do if the telephone number is not working?
If the telephone number listed for the location you are calling from is not functioning, please report your concern through this web site. Please indicate in the report that the telephone number you tried to access did not work.
Who is NAVEX?
