Commonly Asked Questions
How is the "ask a question" feature different from Reporting a Concern?
Use “Ask a Question” if you have a question, but are not sure if it is a concern that should be reported. If you would like to get a direct response to your question via email, please provide your email address (this is optional). Your question will be handled confidentially.
What should I do if I don't have all the information, or aren't sure if something needs to be reported?
If you suspect a violation or have a concern, but do not know all of the facts, DO NOT TRY TO CONDUCT YOUR OWN INVESTIGATION. Report what you know through the Report Online or Report by Phone features. You are protected from retaliation for any report of a suspected violation or concern that is made in good faith, even if your reported matter is unsubstantiated after an investigation.
Who will respond to my question?
After reviewing the question, the appropriate TE representative will get back to you. If you have provided your email address, a response will be sent directly to your email.
Will my question be handled confidentially?
Yes. Any information you provide will be treated confidentially to the extent permitted by law and other than where disclosure is necessary in the context of an investigation into a reported concern.
